We apply the same attention to detail to our kids’ bikes because safety and confidence are just as important for younger riders. Complimentary safety checks are available for every bike.

We stock a comprehensive range of Shimano and SRAM components, along with tyres and wheels, enabling us to complete most repairs the same day and get you back out riding as quickly as possible.

The frame geometry, material provides the ultimate in ride quality on or off road, speed and rides with a beautiful zing. The frame material, is 1.4x as strong as titanium, gets stronger under stress, doesn’t ride like a bone, and de-laminate like carbon, or fail in fatigue like titanium with with hard use.

The design is based upon our experience of ultra riding and fixing many thousands of bikes, with experience drawn from our 30 years of experience of automotive and aerospace design.

Frame repair – Titanium Carbon and Aluminum

The detailed design of titanium bike frames, analysing the cause of the failure and getting the strategy right on how to repair titanium frames is critical.

Yet the accepted designs, grade of titanium used and norm on excessively pretty welds without understanding the critical design details, leaves most titanium frame manufacturers providing flawed frames.

We have repaired many of these frames and analysed the failures and strengthen and resolve these design flaws.

The detailed design is critical to achieving a strong a beautiful frame.

Yet designs try and fix the issues without realising they are creating increased stress concentrations that lead to faster catastrophic fatigue failures and propagating thereafter from the sharp micro cracks.

Here is a nice Van Nicolas frame with a relatively mino but critical flaw in the pretty weld, that caused the failure

That flaw would gone unnoticed , because it looked pretty

These frames are well worth saving and strengthening properly

Engineering excellence has been the foundation of his career, combining technical precision with practical innovation to create products that perform in the real world.

A lifelong cyclist, Tom also brings over 40 years of endurance riding experience. His journeys have taken him across some of the world’s most demanding landscapes, including the Australian Outback, the Alps, Vietnam, New Zealand, Europe, and every corner of the United Kingdom.

Having ridden thousands of miles in every imaginable condition, he understands exactly what cyclists need from their equipment. Every Ewhurst Bike is designed with the same principles that have guided his engineering career—performance, reliability, durability, and attention to detail.

Main Terms of Business

  • The budget for all work, except for very minor variations, will be agreed in advance before work begins.
  • Full payment is due before the bicycle, frame, or any other item is collected.
  • Bicycles, frames, or other items not collected by the agreed collection date may be subject to a storage charge of £10 per day.
  • Charges for complex technical investigations on e-bikes, remote support, or work carried out off-site must be paid in advance.

If any issues arise following our work, we will investigate them promptly and make every reasonable effort to resolve them as quickly as possible.

All Alpine Race Frames that we build are covered by a lifetime guarantee. Non-consumable main components supplied as part of the build are guaranteed for three years. This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, consumable items, misuse, accidents, neglect, or damage caused by modifications or servicing by third parties.

Any variation to these terms must be agreed by both parties in writing.
